1000 Roxbury Drive. Reminding her of the big estates back in Jamestown, where she grew up, Lucy bought this home with Desi in 1955. Oddly enough, Lucy was with a realtor to look at the home across the street, at 1001. Unimpressed, she crossed the street, walked up to the door and rang the bell. Not recognizing TV's most famous redhead, the woman who opened the door said that she and her husband, were indeed thinking of selling the home! After some shrewd negotiation, Lucy promptly agreed, stepped outside and told the waiting broker that she had just purchased the property!
