Daily News - September 9th 2008

Friends of Old-Time Radio (FOTR), an organization that celebrates the golden age of radio, will again gather old-time radio stars and historians next month for its 33rd annual convention at the Holiday Inn North near Newark Airport.

Lucie Arnaz, daughter of Lucille Ball, will talk about her mother's radio and television careers and join a Saturday panel on singers at the convention, which will be Oct. 23-26.

Peg Lynch will return with a reprise of her influential and popular sitcom "Ethel & Albert," and original cast member Gloria McMillian will help re-create an episode of "Our Miss Brooks."

A highlight on Saturday night will be the re-creation of "Mars Is Heaven," an episode of the science-fiction series "X-1," which was adapted from a Ray Bradbury story. Other scheduled attendees include Chuck McCann, Joe Franklin, Simon Jones, Will Hutchins, Arthur Anderson, Rosemary Rice and others.

There is a dinner every night and offerings from radio memorabilia dealers.
